ABSORBENT PADS

Madeline Dossett, Natural Resource Analyst with the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), expresses concern about the “haphazard” placement and management of absorbent pads along Chugwater Creek.  She is specifically worried that oil-soaked and waterlogged pads are not being retrieved and replaced quickly enough, potentially causing additional environmental harm to the fragile riparian habitat.  Ms. Dossett requests assurances that proper retrieval, replacement, and disposal procedures will be followed and recommends that clear guidance be incorporated into the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and emphasized during semi‑daily operational briefings. This is a Drill!
