AQUATIC INVASIVE SPECIES

Paul Day (Aquatic Habitat Program Manager with the Wyoming Game & Fish Department) briefs spill management personnel on the documented presence of aquatic invasive species, specifically Asian clams and zebra/quagga mussels, within Grayrocks Reservoir.  He emphasizes that all boats and waterborne equipment leaving the reservoir must undergo full decontamination to prevent inadvertent spread.  This includes a detailed inspection, removal of all mud and organic material, complete drainage of bilge and internal compartments, and sufficient drying time to ensure no residual moisture remains.  Mr. Day expresses appreciation for HFSM’s cooperation and directs personnel to the Department’s online resources for additional guidance.  This is a Drill!
