Platte County Commissioner Steve Shockley informs HFSM officials that the County has issued a Disaster Declaration in response to the oil spill on Chugwater Creek. He cites threats to public health, irrigation water supply disruption, impacts upon public recreation, and significant environmental damages as the basis for the declaration. Commissioner Shockley explains this action is intended to expedite the mobilization of State resources and enable access to financial assistance for cleanup, environmental protection, and other spill-related costs.
