Todd Simon (Senior Project Manager with GrayMar Environmental Services) explains a Staging Area Layout would be a great addition to the Incident Action Plan (IAP), while also being helpful for arriving equipment owners, contractors, and suppliers. He indicates the diagram could include such things as the locations of check-in stations, vehicle/trailer parking arrangements, equipment laydown areas, portable toilets, temporary shower trailers, feeding/break tents, first-aid stations, waste receiving areas, decontamination stations, etc. Mr. Simon provides HFSM with an example staging area layout as a reference.
