WILDLIFE TRIAGE CENTER

Will Schultz (Habitat Protection Program Supervisor with the Wyoming Department of Game & Fish) advises HFSM to contact the Platte County Fairgrounds to determine whether any of their enclosed buildings are suitable for use as a wildlife triage site for oiled birds, small mammals, and reptiles (including turtles).  Mr. Schultz notes that the preferred facility should feature an open floorplan with sufficient space for modular pens, warming and stabilization areas, and must have reliable electricity, potable water, and functional HVAC systems.  He further explains that ample parking and loading‑dock access would support rapid transfer and staging of incoming wildlife.  This is a Drill!
